This dataset contains stable isotope (δ¹³C, δ¹⁵N) and elemental composition (carbon and nitrogen content, C:N ratio) data for soil samples. Samples were collected during the peak of the growing season (July) in 2021 and 2022 at the CCT continuous permafrost site in the Brøgger Peninsula, near Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard. The dataset distinguishes between three soil categories: bare soil, soil collected beneath the high-arctic dwarf shrub Dryas octopetala L., and soil collected beneath Salix polaris Wahlenb.
-
The dataset includes the sediment and biota sampling point in Svalbard Archipelago, along Krossfjorden and Kongsfjorden. Sediment was sampled with the grab from the MS-Teisten (Kings Bay) while amphipods were sampled from the coast with nets (Polar Circle - NPI).
-
Measurement of the concentration and turbulent flux of CO2 and CH4 at 15 m above sea level on the CCT.
-
Data collected by the WINTER-CZ Monitoring Station. The CO2 and the temperature is sampled is measured inside the soil, the snowpack (when the station is covered by the snow) and the atmosphere. Other variables are collected as well: the humidity and the oxygen content of the soil, the snowpack height, the humidity and the temperature of the air, the wind speed and direction.
