SIOS VegSoCa Dryas Salix Stable isotopes and Concentration
This dataset contains leaf stable isotope (δ¹³C, δ¹⁵N) and elemental composition (carbon and nitrogen content, C:N ratio) data for two dominant high-arctic dwarf shrubs, Dryas octopetala L. and Salix polaris Wahlenb. Samples were collected repeatedly during the peak of the growing season (July) from 2021 to 2024 at a continuous permafrost site in the Brogger Peninsula, near Ny-Alesund, Svalbard

The sampling campaigns were conducted in the Brøgger Peninsula, near the village of Ny-Ålesund in Svalbard, Norway. The experimental site is a high-arctic polar semi-desert underlain by continuous permafrost, located near the Climate Change Tower (CCT). Fresh leaf samples of the dwarf shrubs Dryas octopetala and Salix polaris were collected repeatedly during the peak of the growing season (July) from 2021 to 2024.
