SIOS VegSoCa Carbon Fluxes on Dryas Salix and bare soil
This dataset compiles measurements of gas exchange and associated microclimatic conditions for two dominant dwarf shrub species (Dryas octopetala and Salix polaris) and bare soil control plots. It is important to note that the presented data do not derive from continuous monitoring (e.g., Eddy Covariance) but consist of point (instantaneous) measurements conducted manually during the peak of the summer growing season (July) between 2021 and 2024.

Point measurements of CO\u2082 fluxes were performed using different, cross-calibrated portable systems (models LI-6400 by LI-COR Environmental, USA; model EGM-5 by PP-Systems, USA). The instruments were coupled with a transparent accumulation chamber (14 cm in diameter) to assess gas exchange over the plant community (approximately 1 m\u00b2 per plot). Concurrently with each gas flux measurement, soil conditions were spot-sampled using a WET sensor (Delta-T Devices Ltd, UK), which recorded real-time soil temperature and moisture in the top centimeters of the soil profile. Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) was recorded instantaneously using the quantum sensor integrated into the EGM system during the 2023 and 2024 campaigns. For the previous years, the specific point-in-time light conditions were extracted and temporally aligned using data from a local meteorological station (Climate Change Tower) located near the experimental site
